Privacy policy

Short version: no tracking, no advertising cookies, fonts served from our own server, and your form data is used only to answer you. The details follow below. The German version is authoritative.

2. What this website does not do

This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies, runs no analytics that profile you, and loads no fonts or scripts from third-party advertising networks. Web fonts are served from our own hosting. Because no consent-requiring technologies are used, no cookie banner is shown.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA) with content delivered through European edge servers. When you visit, technical data (IP address, time, requested page, browser information) is processed in server logs to deliver the site securely and detect misuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data transfer to the USA is safeguarded by the EU standard contractual clauses; a data processing agreement is in place. Logs are retained only for the period technically required.

4. Contact form and email

When you send the contact form, we process the details you enter (name, email, phone if provided, your request) to answer you and to arrange appointments. Because a request to a medical practice can itself reveal health-related information, we ask for your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR) alongside Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to treatment).

Form messages are delivered to our mailbox through the email service Resend (processor under a data processing agreement). Please do not send detailed medical records through the form; bring documents to your appointment instead.

Your messages are stored as long as needed to handle your request. If treatment follows, relevant correspondence becomes part of your medical record, which we must retain under Austrian health law (in general 10 years). Otherwise, enquiries are deleted within one year at the latest.

5. Phone and WhatsApp

If you contact us by WhatsApp, data is processed by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. under its own privacy terms, including transfers to Meta group companies outside the EU. Use WhatsApp only if you are comfortable with this, and avoid sending medical details there. Phone and email are available as alternatives at all times.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as far as the GDPR grants them in your situation. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Contact for all requests: info@starop.at.

You may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde, www.dsb.gv.at) or your local supervisory authority in the EU.

7. Changes

This policy is updated when the website or the legal situation changes. The current version is always available on this page.
